Depending on how many people you’re sharing your internet connection with, any plan with download speeds of 500 Mbps and above will work for gaming. If you’re the only one at home using your connection, the higher download and upload speeds will get your games on your console or PC faster, but it likely won’t heavily impact your actual gaming experience.

However, when looking around for the right broadband internet plan for gaming, you especially want to take note of an ISP’s latency or ping rate. Latency will have a bigger impact on gameplay than upload or download speeds.
For some properties, when you’re switching internet providers and your home has already been connected to the nbn, your internet could be activated in just a few minutes. However, some properties may require an nbn technician to complete the connection. If this is the case, you can book in the earliest available appointment through our app or contact our support team.

If you have your own modem or router, you’re more than welcome to use it for your Superloop home broadband. However, if you would like to BYO modem or router, please make sure it’s compatible with your NBN connection type and speed. Some routers do not support higher speeds, so check the manufacturer settings before signing up.
Additionally, our customer service team is trained to support the devices we have on offer. When you BYO modem or router, our support team may not be able to troubleshoot issues across all brands and devices, so you may encounter delays if any connection problems arise.
If you’re not sure, or if you think your router could use an upgrade, you can purchase a compatible device when you sign up or after you’ve signed up.
Absolutely! Our nbn home broadband plans offer no lock-in contracts so you can change up your internet speed once per pay cycle. You can make these changes in your app or SuperHub portal.
