Things you need to know
Wi-Fi 7 is the next-generation wireless standard (802.11be), offering faster speeds, lower latency, and better performance in crowded networks. It supports up to 46 Gbps, wider 320 MHz channels, and advanced tech like Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for smoother, more reliable connections.
A mesh router system uses multiple units (a main router and satellites) to provide seamless Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home. Unlike a traditional router, it reduces dead zones by letting devices automatically connect to the strongest signal as you move around.
Eligible Superloop residential nbn customers can get a FREE* eero 7 or eero Pro 7 with eero Secure, or a TP Link modem ($25 shipping). You may be eligible for one free router per service, but it’s only available for FTTP, FTTC, or HFC connections. TP-Link VB433v is also available for FTTN and FTTB connections. To qualify, your service must stay active for 24 months. If you cancel before then, a Modem Payout Fee (inc. GST) will apply for the remaining months. The best modem depends on your technology type and usage. For fast plans (e.g. 100+ Mbps speeds), a Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 router is ideal.
At Superloop we provide eero 7, TP Link and eero Pro 7 Wi-Fi 7 modem routers. For large homes, a mesh system is best.
Make sure it supports VLAN tagging if needed.
Wi-Fi 7 offers faster speeds, lower latency, and supports wider 320 MHz channels, whereas Wi-Fi 6 maxes out at 160 MHz. Wi-Fi 7 also enables simultaneous use of multiple frequency bands (MLO), improving stability and performance in busy environments.
You may need a new router if your current one doesn't support your technology (e.g., FTTP, HFC) or can't handle your desired speed. Upgrading to a newer modem can also improve speed, coverage, and device support.
Our modems are configured in advance to work with the specific nbn, Opticomm, Superloop or other fibre providers. We are also able to provide full support.

Most current devices do not support Wi-Fi 7 yet. However, Wi-Fi 7 routers are backward compatible, so your existing Wi-Fi 5 or 6 devices will still connect, just without taking full advantage of the new features and top speeds.
